Please see our Facebook Page for updates on our hours during our renovation. We will be CLOSED Friday Feb 21. Hoping to be open on Saturday the 22nd! Stayed Tuned.
It has been a few very busy weeks for us with the store makeover happening. My kids are getting sick of me telling them we have to go to the store "again". It's not the best place for them. They like to run free and get into trouble.. and of course a retail store isn't the best place for that.
Last night I had them there again while my hubby (after a long day of work) helped me figure out our new hemp fabric ceiling... and let me say it's not the easiest job with the 16 feet or so he had to climb to get to the top.
So while Dad was up on the ladder, I told my 5 year old to stay busy and "make mom a Valentine". So he ran away to the counter and was quiet and busy for what seemed like forever.
Then he started coming to ask me questions. "Mom, what's your favourite colour?". "Mom, is this your size?". Of course I was busy and not really paying attention. Before I realized he had gone ahead and filled the paper bag he decorated to the top with gifts!
I attempted to tell him he couldn't just "take" everything from the store, but it was so darn adorable I figured I could simply sneak a few things back after he proudly gifted me all the treasured he had chosen. He did such a great job! I'm going to have a hard time returning them. Take a peek here:
We are busy at working giving the store a much needed makeover. For now, the store is open, but is a super tiny version of itself while we are busy at work in the back part. All Clothing is between 25% and 40% off. Lot of amazing deals happening so stop by and see if you can sneak a peek at the beautiful changes taking place!
We are currently carrying some lovely bamboo tank tops form Movement Global. I was stumped as to a good way to display them to make it clear they were tank tops and still have them look pretty. I searched Pinterest (the omnipotent god of DIY) and found nothing that would be useful for a retail store. So, I made up my own! Here is a little tutorial of how to fold tanks so you can see the straps (making it clear it's a tank!) and still have them neat and pretty. I'm still perfecting the fold, so no two all folds are created equal. Enjoy!
Step 1: Fold the top down so the top of the straps are about a third of the way from the bottom of the tank. Flip the tank over so the traps face down.
Step 2: Fold the edges in on both sides, you decide how wide you want it to be :)
Step 3: Fold the bottom half up to meet the folded edge of the tank.
Step 4: Flip over. Ta-da!
