the perfect flowers for me

This year for valentines I received the perfect gift from my husband. Now, you may all be laughing (cause I sure did) but honestly this was the the most beautiful bouquet I have ever received. My poor husband doesn't have the easiest time buying gifts for me these days. I own a store full of beautiful things... which means he can no longer buy me clothes or jewelry. I frown at almost any type of typical store bought body product, and if the chocolate isn't organic & fair trade i'm not that thrilled (but will probably still eat it). For the last few years he has also learned not to buy me flowers unless they come from a local road side stand (because of the chemicals, unfair labour and travel involved). So this year, even though I had expressed I didn't need anything, I awoke in the morning to red and yellow peppers standing tall on celery sticks in a vintage jar that he found, along with a vegan cookbook. Haa! still laughing a little which makes the gift that much better. Also thinking it's probably time to look up a recipe for stuffed peppers... Anyway, happy v-day to all of you, & here's hoping this little story inspires a bit of creative & eco friendly gift giving for your sweet day.
